Awelon is situated on the picturesque Poppit Sands. The beach is sandy and safe and has been awarded a blue flag for cleanliness. During the summer months, lifeguards patrol the beach.
Awelon overlooks Cardigan Bay and the Pembrokeshire Coast. The views are breathtaking! The Bay is home to a host of wildlife, including dolphins, seals and birds.
Awelon is the perfect place to relax and unwind but for the more adventurous, many activities are available. Walking is a popular past time and the Pembrokeshire Coastal path is only a stone’s throw away. The River Teifi joins the sea at one end of the beach. This is truly a paradise for fishermen and boating enthusiasts. Opportunities for many kinds of watersports also exist.
Poppit Sands remains unspoiled, however all the necessary amenities can be found within 3 miles. Two pubs, which serve food, are within walking distance and the local village of St. Dogmaels houses a Spar shop, a fish and chip shop (highly recommended!) and a post office. Cardigan Town is approximately 3 miles from Awelon. Carmarthen and Tenby are both merely an hour’s drive away.
